Position OverviewThe Senior Manager, Operations & HR serves as the central hub for Intentional Philanthropy's day-to-day internal operations and HR administration. This hands-on role ensures that employee, resource, workplace, and organization-wide operational needs are addressed accurately, responsively, and consistently.
The Senior Manager independently manages recurring processes and operational projects, improves workflows and documentation, coordinates internal and external partners, and follows work through completion. The position serves as employees' primary contact for routine HR and operational needs and completes the related administrative work, seeking guidance when specialized expertise or additional authority is required.

This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid role based in the DMV region, combining remote work with periodic in-office collaboration at IP's Bethesda, Maryland office. Employees should be able to commute to the office as needed and maintain a reliable remote workspace. Occasional travel, evening, or weekend work may be required for meetings and organizational events.
Scope & AccountabilityAn established contributor responsible for leading multiple projects or work streams with limited guidance. Coordinates across teams, anticipates challenges, and improves processes for efficiency and consistency. Exercises growing judgment and escalates decisions with broader risk or strategic impact.
Roles & Responsibilities1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and orientation
- Administer employee records, payroll, benefits, leaves, employee changes, and offboarding
- Coordinate performance cycles, learning, compliance training, recognition, engagement, and wellness activities
- Maintain HR systems, reports, policies, forms, procedures, and partner relationships
- Serve as employees' initial contact for routine HR needs and elevate employee-relations or risk matters appropriately
2. Technology, Platforms & Equipment
- Administer subscribed platforms, including access, licenses, permissions, renewals, user support, and vendor coordination
- Provide level-one technology support and coordinate specialized assistance
- Manage the equipment lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory records
- Support employee adoption and implementation of approved technology and AI resources
3. Workplace & Vendor Operations
- Coordinate workplace systems, supplies, mail, reception, meeting spaces, safety, cleanliness, and hybrid-office needs
- Administer purchasing, contract-review coordination, memberships, insurance certificates, renewals, and vendor records
- Coordinate organization-wide meeting, travel, event, and retreat logistics
- Maintain business-continuity and workplace-readiness procedures and resources
4. Organizational Coordination & Internal Service
- Own the organization-wide operational calendar and recurring staff and quarterly operations meetings
- Administer IP's internal ticketing system and monitor service requests through resolution
- Coordinate the internal newsletter, biweekly offline updates, and shared operational information
- Plan and coordinate cross-functional operational projects using and other tools
