The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of Centerby administering a wide range of HR programs and services. This position serves as a resource to employees and managersregardingrecruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, training, and leave administration. The HR Generalistis responsible for executing human resources strategies in support of the Center’s mission, vision, values, and culturewhileensuring adherence to employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices.

This position is the Center’s sole HR professional and actsas aliaison between managers and employees onallhuman resources-related matters,facilitateskey communications, and leads orfacilitatesongoing human resources-relatedday to day functions andactivitiesfor
40+FTE organization.

This position is supported in partby the Operations

Manager,works closely with theSenior Leadership Team  and is highly collaborative withall members of the Finance&Operations Team including the Chief Operating Officer,Grant Finance Director, Data Manager, Facilities Coordinator & Custodian, Executive Assistant, and external contractors.

ESSENTiAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring and onboarding
  • Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Training & Performance Management
  • Employee & Labor Relations
  • Human Resource Operations, Payroll & Compliance Administration
  • Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including posting positions, screening applicants, schedulinginterviewsand communicating with candidates.
  • Assist hiring managers throughout the selection process.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Maintain onboarding documentation andensurescompliance with employment eligibility requirements.
  • Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Support employee benefits administration, includinghealthcareand retirement planenrollments, changes, annual open enrollment,termination and employee education
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and concerns.
  • Coordinate leave administration processes, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), state leaveprogramsand Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords and documentation related to employee leave requests.
  • Training & Performance Management
  • Coordinate training programs, compliancetrainingand professional development opportunities.
  • Develop a system for trackingprofessional development and training activities, alignment with each employee’s professional development plan, andaggregate a monthlyagency-levelreportforsenior leaders.
  • Track employee training records and certification requirements.
  • Facilitate 90-day and annual performance review cycles, providing support and guidance to staff and leadership.
  • Support planning, facilitation, and evaluation efforts for employee recognition,wellness and retention programs.
  • Employee & Labor Relations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employeesregardingHR-related matters and with the labor union.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provides guidance on policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices and serves as the primary interface with benefit providers, HRIS systems, payroll providers, legal counsel, and other risk management professionals.
  • Serve as the lead for employee relations issues including employee complaints and/or grievances;counsel andfacilitatecommunication amongst employees and managers, complete or coordinate investigations with external investigators as necessary, and prepare andmaintainrelated documentation.
