About Apsida:

Apsida Life Science is a rapidly growing specialist recruitment company focused on the life sciences industry, with offices across the UK, US and South Africa.

We work with leading pharmaceutical and biotech organisations, building long-term relationships with both clients and candidates. Our approach is built around industry expertise, integrity and delivering tailored recruitment solutions.

Our Boston office is a growing part of the wider Apsida business, offering the opportunity to join a small team and play an important role in its continued development.

The Role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Associate Recruitment Consultant to join our Boston office. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone who is interested in sales and recruitment and wants to build a long-term career within the industry.

You’ll work closely with Jon Orsbourn, who will provide hands-on training, guidance and mentorship as you learn the fundamentals of recruitment. You’ll gain experience across candidate sourcing, interviewing, client development, business development and relationship management, with increasing responsibility as you progress.

You’ll initially work alongside Jon and the wider team, learning how to identify and engage with candidates, understand client requirements and support the recruitment process. As your knowledge and confidence develops, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your own clients and candidates and progress into a full Recruitment Consultant role.

Joining at this stage also means you’ll have the opportunity to grow with the Boston office, taking on greater responsibility as the team and business expands.

No degree or previous recruitment experience is required.
We’re looking for attitude, ambition, and a genuine willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn the recruitment process through hands‑on training and day‑to‑day coaching
  • Source and engage with candidates through Linked In, job boards, databases and networking
  • Screen candidates and conduct initial interviews
  • Support candidates throughout the recruitment process, including interview preparation
  • Develop an understanding of client requirements, roles and company cultures
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates and clients
  • Support business development through calls, emails and networking
  • Maintain accurate candidate and client records
  • Stay up to date with life sciences industry trends and market developments
  • Shadow experienced consultants and learn best practices across recruitment, sales and relationship management
  • Take on increasing responsibility and ownership as your skills develop
What We’re Looking For:
  • A proactive, motivated and ambitious approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • A genuine interest in sales, recruitment and the life sciences industry
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback and develop
  • Alignment with Apsida’s core values:
    Supportive, Initiative, Drive and Accountability
Additional Benefits:
  • One day per week working from home
  • Competitive commission structure
  • Meritocratic career progression
  • Global travel opportunities
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual incentive plans
  • Healthcare and life insurance
  • Modern downtown Boston office
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
