Human Resources Business Partner

The HR Business Partner serves as a trusted HR advisor to assigned communities, partnering with leaders to strengthen employee relations, staffing, compliance, and team performance. This role provides hands-on support throughout the employee lifecycle and helps leaders navigate people matters with consistency, sound judgment, and a strong understanding of community operations.

Essential Functions and

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned communities, building strong working relationships with Executive Directors and department leaders through regular communication, L10 participation, and onsite visits.
  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance, corrective action, policy interpretation, and other day-to-day workforce matters. Partner with the Director of HR on complex, sensitive, or high-risk concerns.
  • Support recruiting for leadership and other assigned positions, including requisition approval, job postings, candidate coordination, offer letters, pre-employment screening, and clearance requirements.
  • Ensure new hires are accurately established in the HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems and that onboarding documents, personnel files, and required credentials are complete.
  • Partner with community leaders to provide a consistent onboarding and orientation experience, including structured 7-, 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, open enrollment, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and applicable state leave requirements while maintaining timely and accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, return-to-work processes, and unemployment responses. Monitor trends and recommend opportunities to reduce risk and improve workplace safety.
  • Maintain accurate employee data and employment records across HR systems, ensuring information is complete, current, and audit-ready.
  • Prepare and monitor workforce reporting, including staffing activity, turnover, time-to-fill, compliance, and other key HR metrics.
  • Support regulatory audits, policy implementation, and employment compliance across assigned communities.
  • Identify workforce trends and operational challenges, then partner with leaders to develop practical solutions that support retention, accountability, employee engagement, and quality resident care.
  • Train and support Business Office Directors and Executive Assistants on hiring, pre-employment screening, onboarding, personnel documentation, and HR compliance requirements. Provide practical tools, checklists, and refresher training to promote consistent HR practices across assigned communities.
  • Monitor and audit community processes, provide coaching when gaps are identified, and escalate recurring or significant concerns to the Director of HR and appropriate Regional Director.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
