Role Description

The Account Coordinator / Employee Benefits role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Sparks Glencoe, MD, with flexibility for some work from home. This role supports client-facing account management activities, including preparing proposals, handling renewals, and coordinating implementation of employee benefit plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to client inquiries, resolving benefit-related issues, maintaining accurate client records, and collaborating with carriers and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate processing.

The Account Coordinator assists with data collection and analysis, prepares client presentations and documentation, and helps ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. This position requires proactive communication, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service.

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Analytical skills to review benefit plan data, compare options, and support informed recommendations.
  • Experience or aptitude in account management to coordinate benefit programs and manage ongoing client needs through resolution.
  • Customer service skills to respond promptly to inquiries, resolve issues, and support a positive client experience.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort working with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Prior experience in employee benefits, insurance, or HR support is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Hours of Work

Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm (Mon - Thurs on site; Fridays are remote)

Starting at $50,000 annually; commensurate with experience
