Associate Data Engineering Specialist

Location: Schaumburg, Illinois (currently hybrid with up to 50% remote)

In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You’ll work closely with senior data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and well-structured for business use.

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using AWS services.
• Work with Databricks to process, transform, and analyze large datasets.
• Help integrate data from multiple sources into centralized storage solutions (data lake and data warehouse).
• Support the team in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
• Learn and implement best practices for data governance, security, and documentation.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to enable data-driven insights.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (preferably Python).
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, especially AWS.
• Interest or exposure to Databricks, Spark, or other data processing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• You are eager to learn new tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering.

• Coursework or internship experience in data engineering, analytics, or cloud computing.
• Understanding ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline design.
• Familiarity with version control (Git/Git Hub) and CI/CD processes.

• Get hands-on experience with modern data tools like AWS and Databricks.
