Federal Automation Cloud Engineer

Hybrid Role – on‑site in PA, AL, OK, UT.

Clearance Required:

Secret (U.S. Citizen).

Job Summary

This role is a federal Cloud Automation Engineer focused on Terraform‑based automation workflows for subscription services within HPE’s Private Cloud Enterprise environment. It requires expertise in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable, secure automation solutions that meet customer requirements and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Terraform Development and Automation
    • Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure and subscription services.
    • Develop reusable Terraform modules and templates to standardize deployment across multiple environments.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines for seamless delivery of infrastructure components.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation
    • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops to support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of subscription services.
    • Automate application and infrastructure changes while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Subscription Services Automation
    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand subscription service requirements and translate them into scalable automation workflows.
    • Design and implement solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of subscription services.
    • Monitor and improve automation workflows to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Cloud and Security Expertise
    • Apply advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid environments) to design robust automation solutions.
    • Ensure automation workflows adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Collaboration and Documentation
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and security teams, to align automation workflows with organizational goals.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes, including Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and subscription service workflows.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Flexible hybrid role with onsite presence at customer location as required.
  • Proficiency with Terraform including module development, state management, and cloud provider integrations.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops and integration of Terraform into pipelines.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing automation solutions for subscription‑based services.
  • Expertise in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid environments) and related tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud‑native CI/CD solutions.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Hands‑on experience securing automated workflows and ensuring compliance with federal standards.
Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in CI/CD pipeline development, cloud infrastructure automation, and subscription services delivery.
  • Certifications:

    Security Plus (or higher such as CISSP, CASP, etc.).
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 9:00–17:00; flexibility for evenings and weekends as required.
  • Monthly rotation schedule required.
