We may be interested in the Field Service Engineer position that we have available supporting our customers within the Omaha area. You'll work from home and travel to customer sites to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair enterprise-level servers and storage hardware in data centers. Whatyou'll do:
Customer Service
- Travel to customer sites within approximately a 100-mile radius to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Perform maintenance and repair on data center hardware, including mid-to-high end servers and storage devices
- Provide exceptional service by responding quickly and efficiently to customer needs
- Communicate clearly and confidently to ensure customers feel supported and their concerns are addressed
- Identify and proactively raise potential technical issues when needed
- Assist with data center relocations and inventory audits
- Troubleshoot hardware issues efficiently while managing multiple service calls
- Interpret maintenance manuals and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex issues
- Stay current on industry advancements through training and certification programs
- Serve as a technical expert during sales calls when needed
- Document and share resolutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency
- Prepare thorough audits and maintain documentation of service calls
- Proactively analyze and prepare for service calls to ensure quick and effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and customer interactions
- Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and sales to deliver seamless support
- Proven experience in a field service or customer-facing hardware repair role
- Hands‑on experience repairing and maintaining servers, storage devices, and data center equipment
- Comfortable working independently and managing a regional service territory
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive regularly to customer locations
- A+ or Server+ certification preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
