Do you like building modern solutions to solve complex business needs leveraging applications built with Java, Spring Boot, TKG, AWS, Mulesoft, and more? If so, then we want you to join the Department of Decisioning team in the Income and Wealth Planning Division!

In this role, you ll help shape and implement strategies that fuel our modernization efforts, support business growth and improve engineering practices. We work with a blend of homegrown and vendor tools focusing on the modernization of our Underwriting systems. • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):
  Engineer II: $115,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus opportunity
• Engineer III: $130,000 - $145,000, plus annual bonus opportunity

• Engage in technical efforts within the team and across teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth initiatives and collaborating with team members and external vendors.
• Collaborate in project planning and execution, focusing on backend, testing, and system integration while solving complex technical challenges.
• Drive code quality through code reviews, best practices, and fostering a culture of maintainable, testable code.
• Support existing TKG, AWS, and Mulesoft applications and participate in the continued modernization of the Underwriting platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to processing of insurance applications and their flow through the underwriting process.
• Mentor other engineers, promoting growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Proven track record of effectively conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and containerization with hands-on experience in AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes, as well as integrating the Spring Boot framework.
• Proficient in data management with expertise in SQL (DB2, SQL Server) and Mule Soft for API integration and management.
• Agile mindset with experience in iterative development environments and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.

• Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
