Overview
Information Developer II (Technical Writer) at Power Plan, Inc. is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering clear, concise, and effective documentation for Power Plan’s software solutions. The role supports product launches and enables internal teams and external users with high-quality, accessible materials. Success is measured by the impact of documentation on product understanding and user satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Deliver product documentation for new releases: research, write, and publish end-user and technical documentation for all new product releases. Collaborate with Product Management, UX, Training, Engineering, and QA to gather technical information and user stories. Deliver drafted material no later than two weeks after development completes in the sprint.
- Maintain and enhance existing product documentation: conduct quarterly reviews for accuracy, completeness, and usability. Solicit stakeholder feedback, prioritize updates based on impact and frequency of use, and complete prioritized updates within 90 days of each review cycle.
- Develop and maintain API documentation: collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and QA to produce accurate, user-friendly API docs per OpenAPI standards. Ensure API docs are updated with new API changes and available at product release. Conduct periodic reviews to align with current API functionality and usability best practices, addressing feedback within defined timelines.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or related roles
- Experience in API documentation (OpenAPI, Postman, Bruno)
- Experience in structured writing
- Experience documenting enterprise-level software applications/solutions
- Process orientation with ability to analyze and design/build complex processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including
- Executive presence through verbal and non-verbal communication (confidence, poise, and authority)
- Clear and concise writing
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled with Content Authoring Tools, with preference for Madcap Flare
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Industry/domain knowledge applicable to areas such as accounting, tax, and budgeting
- Technical knowledge: understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, system access, database design, SQL queries, and network protocols
- AI knowledge: relevance augmentation, prompt engineering, context engineering
