Role DescriptionThis is a contract-based hybrid role for a Data Scientist located in North Chicago, IL, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to extract insights and inform decision-making. Key responsibilities include developing data models, building predictive analytics, performing statistical analysis, and visualizing data to communicate findings effectively.
Qualifications- Strong skills in Data Science, including experience with machine learning and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in Statistics and Data Analysis for solving complex problems and deriving actionable insights.
- Expertise in Data Analytics and Data Visualization tools to explore and present results effectively.
- Proficient use of programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with data tools like SQL and Tableau.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in handling large datasets and working knowledge of cloud platforms is a plus.
- Apply advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning techniques on large-scale EHR phenotyping and clinicogenomic datasets.
- Extract and curate patient cohorts from EHR data to support Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS).
- Drive discovery and insights from large biobank datasets to support research and business outcomes.
- Perform data curation, cleaning, and mining using Linux command-line tools.
- Develop and maintain reusable, scalable scripts and pipelines using Python, R, Spark, and SQL.
- Leverage advanced statistical and analytical methods to interpret longitudinal health and genomic data.
- Learn, apply, and enhance automated EHR phenotyping workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while owning individual analytical deliverables.
- Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Support and advance state-of-the-art Phenomics Data Science initiatives.
- Contribute to innovation by developing new mathematical and analytical approaches aligned with evolving data streams.
- Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and compliance in all analyses.
- Communicate findings effectively through documentation, presentations, and discussions.
- Stay current with emerging AI, biostatistics, and genomics methodologies.
