Position: Product Manager II-GIS Data Products (Hybrid/Remote)

Overview

The Product Manager II, GIS Data Products owns the end-to-end customer experience for First American’s GIS data products. This role translates customer needs into product requirements, shapes and packages GIS layers, and coordinates cross-functional execution across Product, Data, Platform, and Sales to deliver reliable, discoverable, and valuable map-ready data products. The role synthesizes insights, prioritizes outcomes, defines requirements, and ensures the delivered layers perform in real customer workflows from onboarding through ongoing use.

Responsibilities
  • Own the GIS data product experience end-to-end: value definition, requirements, delivery readiness, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate customer insights into product decisions, including layer portfolio strategy, attribute requirements, and usability improvements.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Data, and customers to identify opportunities, validate needs, and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Develop and maintain product artifacts including layer specifications, field definitions, release notes, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Design and package layers to satisfy distinct customer needs (e.g., appraisal, underwriting, investment screening, or government workflows) and maintain a versioned catalog.
  • Establish usability standards for layers (metadata completeness, consistent schema, consumer-friendly naming) to support internal and external adoption.
  • Provide customer-ready GIS layers (views, symbology, filters, field sets, aliases, and naming conventions) using industry-standard software.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to publish, share, and govern layers and services for consumption via open-source GIS tools, open standards interfaces, and Esri Enterprise environment.
  • Define and execute release readiness checklists, including functional validation and basic data quality verification.
  • Develop enablement assets: demo layers, capability summaries, customer workflow narratives, and one-page product briefs for each layer; support customer trials and adoption efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of product management experience delivering customer-facing products in a cross-functional environment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, including creating layers, configuring attributes/symbology, and packaging map-ready deliverables for customer use.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into clear product requirements and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Comfort working with data teams on schema/fields/joins at the requirements level (not expected to be the data engineer but must specify what is needed).
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive execution across Product, Data, Platform/Engineering, and Sales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering data products, GIS products, or analytics products.
  • Understanding of parcel/land data concepts and common GIS customer workflows.
  • Familiarity with the Esri ecosystem (Feature Services, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Marketplace distribution).
  • Experience applying JTBD or outcome-driven methodologies in product discovery and prioritization.
Core Competencies
  • Customer-centric product leadership and disciplined prioritization
  • Requirements clarity and operational rigor
  • GIS layer design with a usability mindset
  • Cross-functional leadership and execution discipline
  • Clear written communication and stakeholder updates
  • Sales partnership and enablement effectiveness
