ResponsibilitiesOur Senior Service Now Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and customizing Service Now applications and solutions to meet business requirements. The developer will write and maintain scripts, create workflows, and configure Service Now modules such as ITSM, ITOM, IRM, Sec Ops, and SPM. Working closely with business analysts and other technical teams, the developer ensures platform integration with existing systems and processes, performs testing, debugging, and ensures the platform’s functionality aligns with user needs and organizational goals.
SalaryRange
$115,000 ~ $130,000 (may vary based on experience)
Hybrid & Remote Work- Primary consideration: live within Wisconsin near WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway, Madison, WI). Employees within 45 miles expected to work hybrid 3 days a week.
- Secondary consideration: remote work permissible in approved states:
Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin. - If not regionally local to Madison, WI, frequent monthly travel to headquarters will be expected.
- Can develop, customize, and deploy Service Now applications, modules, and features based on business requirements.
- Enjoy writing and maintaining business rules, UI policies, UI actions, client scripts, and scripted REST APIs.
- Have configured Service Now functionality (forms, workflows, dashboards) and automated business processes through service catalog items.
- Have integrated Service Now with third‑party systems using APIs (REST, SOAP) and middleware tools.
- Can conduct unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality and performance.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for codes, configurations, and customizations.
- Have monitored system performance and implemented optimizations for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Ensure Service Now instances comply with best practices for security and maintainability.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert, assist with platform upgrades, and provide ongoing support and maintenance for Service Now applications post‑deployment.
- U.S. citizenship required (DoD restriction).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years as a Service Now developer or System Administrator.
- Solid knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, IRM, Sec Ops, SPM, and custom applications; demonstrated experience in developing, configuring, and maintaining solutions.
- Proficient in JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and UI Actions.
- Experience integrating Service Now using REST, SOAP, and other web services; capable of configuring and maintaining integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.
- Familiarity with Agile environments and tools like Jira, ADO, Service Now for managing sprints and deliverables.
- Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- 7+ years in software development roles.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) required; CAD or Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITOM, IRM, Sec Ops, or WSD) preferred.
