The Technology, Infrastructure, and Architecture team seeks a Senior Atlassian Engineer to architect, design, implement, and operate Jira and Confluence tools.

• Lead and support tool migrations, upgrades, and updates, ensuring minimal or no downtime and data integrity during maintenance windows.
• Conduct regular health checks and maintenance tasks to keep the platform running smoothly.
• Stay current with Atlassian product updates, ecosystem changes, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate, install, and configure Jira plugins, Confluence macros, and integrations to extend platform capabilities and integrate with other tools.
• Perform Jira front‑end administrative tasks as needed.
• Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Jira and Confluence.
• Document backup and recovery processes and train relevant staff members.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and fix issues related to Atlassian tools and database servers.
• Monitor system performance and usage, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

• 8 years of software programming experience, with at least 5 years as an Atlassian Administrator handling configuration & administration of Jira and Confluence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
• Strong scripting skills in Groovy, Python, and JQL (Jira Query Language).
• Atlassian Jira certifications.
• Hands‑on experience with API integrations, webhooks, REST APIs, Ansible, and Git Hub.
• Located in the Eastern or Central U.S. time zone with the ability to adjust working hours for multiple time zones.
• Curiosity, passion, authenticity, and accountability.

• Experience with reporting and data analysis within Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
• Atlassian Certified Expert.
• Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps (e.g., Script Runner, Project Configurator).
• Experience with Atlassian Data Center and Cloud migrations.
