Architect, OpenShift Infrastructure and Virtualization
About The Role
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an Open Shift Virtualization and Infrastructure Architect to join us. In this role, you will design and guide implementations of Red Hat Open Shift infrastructure projects to include container and virtualization technologies. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential.
This is a remote based job that can be located anywhere in the United States, within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business with the United States.
Specialize in the design and development of automated container platforms, deployment pipelines, and cloud-ready application architectures.
What You Will Do- Deliver successful discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions.
- Scope delivery projects and guiding customers through successful pilot and production deployments.
- Design, create and delivery of content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell (pre-sales), service (consulting) and support (GSS) our cloud solutions at scale.
- Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system resilience
- Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk.
- Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, cloud storage, and software-defined networks
- Travel frequently (30-40 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers.
- Experience in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
- Experience leading successful modern cloud platform consulting engagements
- 4+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role
- 2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
- Broad and deep experience across the following technologies:
Red Hat Open Shift, Red Hat Virtualization, RHEL, Ansible and Artificial Intelligence. - Background in customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization, or within a services division of a major software company
- Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
- Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to higher level executives at large firms
- Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and Dev Ops teams
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to customer locations up to 30-40 weeks per year as needed

Skills: - Experience implementing a CI/CD pipeline
- Deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. Open Stack, RHEV, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC
- Experience working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is preferred
- Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud/hypervisor) and operating system level.
