Rootstock Labs exists to make Bitcoin work for everyone. We’re scaling Bitcoin utility through Rootstock and RIF.
This is a Product Flows and Tokenomics role (based in Europe or South America) with real product leverage
, not simply a business analysis role. You sit at the point where strategy becomes buildable reality: turning initiatives into clear, detailed end-to-end flows, with tokenomics and liquidity built in from day one.
RIF is designed to accelerate the adoption of Bitcoin DeFi on Rootstock by powering community incentives, infrastructure and interoperability, including rewards, governance and grants via Rootstock Collective, and key infrastructure like USDRIF and RNS.
You will help turn complex on-chain activity and user behaviour into clear insights that shape product decisions, incentives, and ecosystem growth. Your work will influence how we design user journeys, allocate resources, and measure what actually drives long-term adoption. We’re building products that help people participate safely and meaningfully in decentralised finance. You will play a key role in understanding how users interact with our products turning that insight into decisions that improve usability, incentives, and growth.
Mandate: make RIF utility real and recognisable by delivering a flagship real-world use case (the Steve Madden of use cases) and a family of complementary use cases, all backed by flows people actually use.
What you will do:
- Deliver canonical end-to-end flow definitions squads can implement.
- Design tokenomics and liquidity into those flows from day one.
- Drive measurable improvements in adoption, comprehension, and flow drop‑off and failure points.
What you will learn:
- Build Bitcoin DeFi user journeys that stay coherent under real liquidity constraints.
- Make token utility legible to normal users without dumbing it down.
- Use telemetry and market signals to drive prioritisation with evidence, not opinions.
90 day impact:
By day 90 you can explain the RIF north star and initiatives clearly and have delivered canonical flow specs for the most business critical journeys. Your analysis is required input for squad build decisions, and your tokenomics and liquidity insight informs product leadership decisions across the RIF product area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Translate RIF strategy and in‑flight initiatives into detailed end to end business flows (states, transitions, failure modes, edge cases).
- Define flow level requirements that are implementation ready (inputs, outputs, constraints, dependencies, acceptance criteria). Your output is implementation‑ready flow definitions that reduce ambiguity and rework.
- Identify and quantify friction in flows:
onramping, user comprehension, telemetry gaps, operational and support burden
. Hold ownership through to resolution with a measurable path to green and defined success criteria. - Define success metrics per critical flow and work with Data Intelligence to instrument telemetry that explains adoption, drop‑off, and liquidity bottlenecks.
- Model tokenomics impact inside key flows (user incentives, costs, rewards, governance touchpoints) and flag second order effects.
- Make liquidity a first class design constraint:
map liquidity dependencies, failure points, and mitigation options across partners and internal protocols
. - Ensure tokenomics and liquidity considerations are included in every relevant flow spec, not bolted on after implementation.
- Be an expert on your market, key sector trends, and competitor offerings where directly relevant to your specific products. Translate what’s working elsewhere into concrete flow improvements.
- Benchmark market leading patterns outside Rootstock and RIF and translate what works into pragmatic recommendations. Provide structured decision input to Product leadership for cross product tokenomics and prioritisation trade‑offs.
- Help set your team’s OKRs aligned with company and group OKRs, as envisioned by the Product Managers and Product Directors.
- Establish clear shared terminology and mental models across Product, Engineering, Data Intelligence, Legal, Marketing, and Finance.
- Raise the bar on written artefacts:
concise specs, flow diagrams, and…
