Team Snap is looking for a Data Engineer to own our data extraction and orchestration infrastructure. You'll work alongside our Staff Data Engineer to build reliable, maintainable pipelines that power analytics and business operations across the company.
This is a hands-on implementation role. You’ll implement new data infrastructure to replace legacy systems, architect solutions with the team, and build the orchestration layer that keeps data flowing reliably. If you enjoy making messy data problems clean and building infrastructure that others can trust, this is the role.
What You'll Do- Build and maintain data extraction pipelines from various sources into Big Query
- Refactor and modernize existing extraction systems
- Implement monitoring and alerting for pipeline health
- Help design and implement our orchestration platform (tooling TBD as a team)
- Build scheduling, dependency management, and failure recovery into our data workflows
- Create visibility into pipeline status for the broader team and business
- Maintain and optimize our Big Query data warehouse
- Support DBT model development and deployment workflows
- Implement CI/CD for data infrastructure changes
- Support SOC 2 compliance requirements for data systems
- Implement security controls and access management in Big Query
- Document data flows and maintain data catalogs
- 3+ years data engineering experience building extraction pipelines
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouses (Big Query, Snowflake, or Redshift)
- Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar)
- Google Cloud experience (Big Query, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage) (AWS / Azure is ok too)
- CI/CD and containerization experience (Docker)
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with DBT
- Fivetran or similar managed ingestion tools
- Background in compliance/governance work (SOC 2, data privacy)
- Experience cleaning up legacy data systems

CompensationWe’re committed to equitable compensation for all Team Snappers. The minimum starting point for this role is $130,000 OTE, inclusive of base and bonus, with comp updated based on multiple factors. Our comp is highly competitive in our space and we adjust overall comp based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
LocationTeam Snap is a fully remote company, so you need to be very comfortable working with people who aren’t in the same time zone as you. We are always expanding, but there is a small list of states we do not hire in, including Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota and West Virginia and while we love all parts of the world, we can only hire permanent US residents at this time.
