AI Engineer

We are looking for an AI Engineer. The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and AI-driven solutions to enhance crew management analytics and operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with data reporting teams, IT, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and predictive insights. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, experience with ML frameworks, and a passion for solving complex problems with data.

• Develop and maintain AI/ML models for crew analytics and scheduling optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and gather requirements
• Deploy models into production and monitor performance
• Conduct data analysis and preprocessing to support model development
• Document processes and ensure compliance with data governance standards

• Scope:
  This role supports global crew operations and analytics across HAL and Seabourn brands, impacting both shore and fleet operations.
• Problem solving:
  Requires advanced analytical skills to build predictive models, anticipate operational challenges, and propose data-driven solutions.
• Impact:
  Contributes to the strategic direction of crew management through AI innovation, influencing staffing, scheduling, and performance metrics.
• Leadership:
  May lead project teams and mentor junior analysts; no direct reports initially but expected to manage cross-functional initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch)
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and model deployment
• Understanding different prompting approaches, prompting strategies including chain-of-thought, and role-based prompting strategies
• Familiarity with JSON
• Knowledge of token management and cost-performance trade offs
• Strong understanding of LLM architecture, embedding, inference behavior
• Must understand AWS Bedrock, Azure and OpenAI
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Travel:
  Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely

  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods

  In-office role; employees work from a designated Holland office Tuesday through Thursday and may work from home on Mondays and Fridays

Holland provides comprehensive benefits, including cruise and travel privileges, health benefits, 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, training and professional development, tuition and professional certification reimbursement, and base salary range: $86,500 to $116,800. Final base salary is determined by qualifications and experience.
