Overview
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office is seeking a Crime Intelligence & Digital Communications Analyst to serve in a dual-function role integrating crime and intelligence analysis with strategic digital communications and social media management
.
In this position, hybrid refers to the blended analytical and communications responsibilities within a single role — not remote or work-from-home status.
This role is ideal for a candidate who can both analyze crime data and responsibly communicate public-safety information through modern digital platforms with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
Core Responsibilities- Analyze crime data, trends, and patterns using law enforcement and public-safety databases
- Produce intelligence reports, dashboards, visualizations, and executive briefings
- Support intelligence-led and data-driven public safety initiatives
- Ensure analytical products meet standards for accuracy, confidentiality, and legal compliance
- Manage official organizational social media accounts across platforms such as Linked In, X/Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
- Plan, draft, schedule, and publish original content, including:
- Public safety messaging
- Crime trend summaries and data-informed updates
- Community outreach and prevention initiatives
- High-visibility announcements and time-sensitive communications
- Translate crime data, enforcement activity, and analytical findings into clear, accurate, and accessible digital content
- Develop infographics, charts, and visual storytelling products that responsibly convey data
- Monitor engagement metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rate, growth) and adjust strategy accordingly
- Track social media trends, misinformation, and emerging issues relevant to public safety
- Maintain consistent voice, tone, and branding aligned with organizational standards
- Exercise strong judgment in balancing transparency, victim sensitivity, operational security, and legal constraints
- Assist with crisis communications and rapid-response messaging when required
- Attend off-site, work-related events to capture photos and video for use across social media platforms and office communications.
- Serve as a bridge between analysts, leadership, and communications needs
- Ensure public-facing messaging is grounded in verified data and approved intelligence
- Collaborate with investigators, analysts, and executives to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Communications, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Journalism, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in crime analysis, intelligence analysis, or data-driven research
- Substantial hands-on experience managing professional or organizational social media accounts
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and responsible public-facing content
- Experience using analytics tools native to social platforms or third-party scheduling/analytics tools
- Proficiency with Excel, GIS, Power BI/Tableau, or similar data tools
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Experience in a prosecutor’s office, law enforcement agency, or public-sector environment
- Familiarity with RMS/CAD systems, intelligence platforms, or OSINT tools
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
- Understanding of public-records laws, ethical communications, and media sensitivity
