Job Description /
Skills:
This position requires the candidate to work a hybrid schedule with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite in the Seattle office. Monday and Fridays are scheduled as remote work days.
Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced analyst with strong data management skills to support key Information Governance activities on a contract basis. In this role, you will work closely with business partners, data stewards, and IT teams to document data definitions, understand data flows, and help apply governance standards across business‑critical data. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as you will partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to clarify processes, gather information, and ensure consistent data handling practices.
You will work hands‑on in Microsoft Purview to maintain business glossary terms, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and data product documentation. You will also assist with data quality reviews, help troubleshoot data issues, and support processes that improve the accuracy and reliability of information across SAP, integrated applications, and downstream reporting environments. SAP GRC Security familiarity is beneficial, but the emphasis is on understanding data structures, creating documentation, validating controls, and supporting governance workflows.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborating across business and technical teams, and working within a structured, process‑driven governance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of metadata in Microsoft Purview, including glossary terms, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), lineage, and data product documentation.
- Collaborate with business partners, data stewards, and IT teams to gather information, document data definitions, clarify business rules, and support data governance activities.
- Conduct data quality checks, validate master data, and help identify issues or inconsistencies across systems.
- Use Power BI to review datasets, analyze trends, validate information, and support stakeholders with clear visuals or summaries.
- Build or maintain Power BI dashboards, metrics, and scorecards to provide insights and support governance reporting.
- Apply foundational SAP GRC Security knowledge to assist with access‑related validation, SoD review support, and governance controls (as needed).
- Contribute to governance process development, including template updates, documentation improvements, and maintaining standards and repeatable workflows.
- Participate in domain working sessions and project discussions, capturing requirements and documenting decisions and next steps.
- Prepare materials for governance reviews, updates, and training sessions to support communication and adoption of governance practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Data Management, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in data management, data analysis, information governance, or related work.
- Experience collaborating with business partners, data stewards, and technical teams to gather requirements and clarify data or reporting needs.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts such as glossary terms, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), lineage, data quality, and master data management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data flows, assess data quality issues, and identify inconsistencies across systems.
- Ability to create clear process documentation, business rules, user guidance, and governance materials.
- Proficiency with Power BI for dataset review, trend analysis, and creating data visualizations that support stakeholder understanding.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions and support training or informational sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams and manage competing priorities in a structured environment.
- Experience building or maintaining governance dashboards, metrics, or scorecards in Power BI.
- Ability to support process improvement using standard templates, controls, and repeatable workflows.
- Experience supporting project teams or operational work streams, including stakeholder coordination and change adoption.
- Foundational understanding of SAP GRC Security, including basic SoD concepts or coordination with access management teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
- Hands‑on experience with metadata management tools, especially Microsoft Purview (glossary, CDEs, lineage, or data product documentation).
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
