- Installs, configures, tests, monitors and deploys stand-alone and networked thin clients, laptops, computers, and telephony devices and associated peripheral devices.
- Assists with management of on-prem and in-cloud services
- Provides desktop support functions to assist users with procedures, and use of desktop and laptop computers, printers, telephones, and related peripheral devices. Analyzes and resolves performance problems involving application software packages, not limited to operating systems and associated firmwares.
- Receives instruction or on-the-job training on basic structures of organization and any related technology updates.
- Assists in writing ITR routine checklists, procedures.
- Serves in a backup role for the Service Desk function as needed.
A successful IT Technician has
- Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software use, installation, and configuration.
- Knowledge of techniques for setting up and testing PC operation and data communication systems.
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance and performance capabilities of hardware, software, mid-range, file server, PC operating systems and data communication systems and networks.
- Knowledge of security systems procedures and access controls.
- Knowledge of telecommunication equipment and peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of MDM deployment and management.
- Knowledge of licensing management and acquisition.
- Knowledge of Azure AD and O365.
- Ability to install, configure and test system and application level software and upgrades.
- Ability to analyze hardware and software related malfunctions and determining effective solutions.
- Skill in operating and maintaining computer and communication systems, and related peripheral equipment and devices.
- Communicating clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Associates Degree in Information Technology or related field
- Two (2) years of computer product support experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A+ or MCP certification is required
- MCDST certificate is required within 6 months of employment
