Sr. Dev Ops Engineer job at Elite Technical, Ashburn, VA.
Sr. Dev Ops EngineerOur client, a prestigious Federal contractor, is seeking a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Sr. Dev Ops Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role (home-based and Ashburn, VA) to begin an exciting and challenging career. The position is hybrid, and the candidate will need to be in the DMV area and available to come onsite 2-3 days per week in Ashburn, VA.
Our client is looking to onboard as a 6-month contract to hire.
- Lead the design and implementation of integrated systems solutions to support enterprise objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust automation workflows for software build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Architect and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and operational activities.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and other IT teams to ensure seamless, high-quality software delivery.
- Conduct systems analysis and evaluation to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Ensure systems integration aligns with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Provide expert guidance and support for Dev Ops tools and practices, facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
- Manage and monitor integrated systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Lead root cause analysis for system issues and implement strategic solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in systems integration and Dev Ops, recommending adoption of new tools and practices where beneficial.
- Must be a US Citizen due to government requirements with the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CBP Public Trust.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and nine (9) years or more of related experience in systems integration and automation within a Dev Ops culture;
Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience. - Strong expertise in Dev Ops methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their management APIs.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Certifications in Dev Ops, cloud computing, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration.
