POSITION OVERVIEW
The Technology Consultant based out of San Antonio, TX is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects and/or tasks, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals, under general direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project-Related Duties:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of assigned projects
- Attend weekly internal team meetings to inspect workloads, prioritize tasks, and improve communications
- Work on technology system design on projects as assigned
- Make technology system recommendations by considering client requirements/goals
- Set up secure project file-sharing and communication systems for internal and external use
- Perform quality assurance on all project-related deliverables
- Identify project risks and communicate them appropriately to the project team
- Stay informed of BIM industry best practices and industry standards
- Schedule and participate in internal hand-off meetings with sales to understand project scope and client expectations
- Assemble project plan with deadlines and coordinate with project support staff
- Effectively communicate and manage BIM resources throughout the project
- Schedule, coordinate, and participate in ongoing project progress meetings with detailed minutes
- Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders
- Proactively communicate with the customer and delivery team
- Evaluate and research technology systems, products, components, and applications, including security solutions
- Be flexible with work schedule to meet project deadlines
Business Development Duties:
- Support and assist with business development efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships and residual sales with existing clients
- Recommend additional services to meet customer needs
- Maintain good working relationships with clients, team members, and vendors
- Provide consultations on security or school system technology as needed
- Maintain relevant awareness of company services and past projects
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
General Duties:
- Daily maintenance of admin tools such as Ajera (time & expense reports), Outlook Calendar
- Present yourself professionally and dress appropriately for interactions with clients
- Participate in team-building events
- Provide updates on all projects to management as requested
- Minimize company expenses related to travel and other related costs
- Promote company culture and core values
- Perform other duties as required by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in the education sector, particularly with school systems, understanding their technology needs and challenges
- Experience as a technology generalist with knowledge of security systems, AV systems, technology infrastructure, IT & software solutions, and industry-specific tools
- Knowledge of emerging trends in technology, infrastructure, security, AV, and instructional technology
- Ability to translate complex technical terms for non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Open to direction and collaborative work style with a commitment to completing tasks
- Ability to attend frequent events outside standard business hours (client meetings, site inspections, board meetings, networking)
- Travel and overnight stays as required
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and One Note
