We are seeking a visionary and hands-on leader to drive AI innovation and elevate our enterprise-wide Business Intelligence capabilities. In this role, you will shape strategy, execution, and delivery across AI, BI, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams—ensuring scalable intelligence solutions, impactful data insights, and alignment between technology and business goals.

As the Head of the Technical Department, you will oversee people leadership, delivery outcomes, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams. You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where agility, innovation, and cross-team coordination are essential.

Responsibilities include:

Providing development, maintenance, and support across various business areas.

Collaborating with teams and working independently on development tasks as needed.

Taking ownership of planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.

Defining and executing the BI roadmap, including data warehousing, reporting, and analytics frameworks.

Establishing data governance policies (quality, security, compliance) and overseeing BI tools (Looker, Preset).

Driving adoption of self-service BI and collaborating with stakeholders to identify KPIs/metrics aligned with business goals.

Designing and implementing tools for engineering teams to focus on shipping features while ensuring infrastructure is cost-efficient, secure, and reliable.

Partnering with external providers like GCP to optimize platform use.

Collaborating with product teams to integrate AI/ML insights into business processes and customer-facing features.

Architecting scalable BI systems (ETL pipelines, data lakes, dashboards) and optimizing AI/ML workflows.

Translating business needs into BI-driven insights and AI use cases with executives.

Mentoring BI & AI Engineers, Data Analysts, and SREs to foster innovation and collaboration.

Leading Agile project delivery, balancing short-term wins with strategic investments.

Providing immediate solutions during incidents and contributing ideas for user-friendly applications.

Participating in cutting-edge AI and machine learning research.

Qualifications include:

Proven expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
Experience with distributed systems, databases, caching, microservices, and cloud services.
Excellent communication, project, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform and API development.
Track record in designing high-performance, scalable systems.
Research or industry experience in AI, ML models, OCR, chatbots, NLP, deep learning.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results while investing in long-term solutions.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, with hands-on experience in data warehousing, ETL tools, visualization platforms, and deploying ML models at scale.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
10 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
At least 5 years of programming experience in Python, Rust, Golang, Java, C++, or Kotlin.
Experience managing teams of 15+ engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
Excellent command of English.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years industry experience, with 5+ years in leadership managing 21+ developers.
Experience designing large-scale AI/BI platforms and integrating AI into customer-facing applications.
Familiarity with AIOps, real-time analytics, and observability tools.
