Overview
Main Sail LLC is seeking an experienced Auto Time Technical Specialist to provide hands-on technical ownership of the Auto Time backend and shop floor clock technical enablement for client s SAP–Auto Time implementation within a large, regulated commercial manufacturing organization. This role focuses on the technical health and operability of Auto Time as a platform—environment configuration, security administration, troubleshooting, clock enablement, and technical defect reproduction—while partnering with SAP technical resources (ABAP/PI) and functional leads to stabilize end-to-end integration through SIT/UAT, cutover, and hypercare.
This role is especially critical given the plan’s emphasis on validating time clock architecture, backend configuration, clock testing, and remediation of clock failures through go-live.
- Provide Auto Time backend services including (but not limited to):
- Supporting technical enablement for shop floor clocks (configuration support and technical troubleshooting; physical install/network readiness is client-owned).
- Auto Time security administration, user management, and system administration support.
- Technical defect reproduction support and coordination of bug resolution activities with client and/or the product vendor as applicable (consistent with client owning product defect resolution under existing support agreements).
- Validate and support the time clock technical architecture: connectivity checks, configuration prerequisites, security model alignment, and backend configuration requirements for Oakville deployment.
- Support Auto Time technical readiness for SIT/UAT:
- Ensure environments are stable for testing cycles.
- Assist in diagnosing integration issues where symptoms appear in Auto Time (logs, transactions, technical settings) and coordinate with SAP PI/ABAP teams for SAP-side resolution.
- Support execution of project phases where clock operations are explicitly required:
- Build/configure the time clock Auto Time backend solution.
- Test and verify operations of Auto Time clocks.
- Remediate time clock failures discovered during SIT/UAT and mock cutover rehearsal cycles.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and handoff artifacts:
- Auto Time operational runbooks, admin procedures, clock troubleshooting guides, and hypercare support playbooks for transition to steady-state.
- Provide cutover/hypercare technical support for Auto Time platform stability, including rapid triage, stabilization actions, and contribution to hypercare defect closure evidence.
- 5+ years of hands-on Auto Time technical / system administration experience (backend configuration, security/user admin, operational support).
- Experience supporting shop floor clock enablement and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting SIT/UAT and go-live stabilization (rapid triage, log-based diagnosis, defect reproduction and verification).
- Strong collaboration skills with SAP technical teams (PI/ABAP) and functional leads to resolve end-to-end issues efficiently.
- Experience in regulated or audit-sensitive manufacturing environments where evidence, controls, and traceability matter.
- Familiarity with SAP–timekeeping/labor integrations and common integration failure modes in shop floor deployments.
- Experience supporting phased or restart implementations and operating within formal change control and readiness-gate models.
