Overview
Join an established Utah-based technology services provider as a Network Support Engineer in a part-time contract role supporting enterprise clients with comprehensive network infrastructure management. This remote position requires you to be located near Ogden, UT and provides 20 hours of work per week with flexible scheduling within business hours. You'll focus on ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support of Aruba network infrastructure including switches and wireless access points across large-scale network deployments.
This role provides consistent weekly support to ensure network devices are operating efficiently, troubleshoot issues proactively, and assist with device deployments and replacements as needed. The position offers competitive hourly compensation based on experience level, ranging from mid-level to senior rates.
- Monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure across large-scale deployments.
- Provide consistent weekly support to ensure devices operate efficiently and reliably.
- Assist with device deployments and replacements as needed.
- Document configurations and operational procedures; maintain clear records of changes and status.
- Mid-level to senior-level experience with Aruba switching platforms
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Aruba wireless access points
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals including VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues independently
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Self-directed with ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong documentation skills
- Reliable availability for a consistent 20-hour weekly commitment
- Must be located near Ogden, UT
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Ability to access network management systems remotely
- Aruba certification (ACMA, ACSA, or equivalent)
- Experience managing large-scale Aruba deployments
- Familiarity with Aruba Central or Air Wave management platforms
- Background in MSP or enterprise IT environments
- Experience with firmware updates and configuration management
- Knowledge of wireless site surveys and RF planning
- Experience with network security best practices
- Troubleshooting experience with complex network issues
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and SLA management
- Tech Breakdown: 50% Aruba Switch Management (monitoring, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting); 30% Aruba Wireless Access Point Support (deployment, monitoring, optimization); 15% Device Deployment and Replacement (hardware installations, configurations); 5% Documentation and Reporting (status updates, procedure documentation)
