The Virginia Retirement System is seeking a Decision Data Analyst I to join its Investment team. This role is integral in enhancing processes through data analysis and technology-based strategies. The analyst will collaborate with team members, perform process evaluations, and contribute to the improvement of the agency s investment operations.

• Conduct interviews with the Investment team to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Design workflows and process strategies to enhance business performance.
• Understand investments databases and data flows between systems.
• Document business and technical processes, including data flows and systems operation.
• Support internal teams with data analysis and report development.
• Enhance technical skills in SQL, process automation, and reporting tools.
• Attend training seminars to improve knowledge in relevant areas.
• Undertake special projects under the direction of the Decision Systems Manager.

• Bachelor s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with high-level programming languages like SQL, Python, or MATLAB.
• Proficiency in reporting and data visualization tools such as Power
  
  BI or Tableau.
• Skill in gathering and documenting system requirements.
• Proven ability to improve business and technical processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Knowledge of investments and related technologies.
• Experience in the public sector.
• Familiarity with robotic process automation tools like UiPath.
• Advanced degree or certification in Computer Science or Information Systems.
