Data Engineer, Data Analyst
Description Type: 6-month contract to hire
Location:
Excelsior, MN (2-3 days on-site)
Must haves/focus areas:
• Proficiency in DBT, Airflow, and Postgres (or equivalent tools)
• Strong experience in data modeling and governance
• A demonstrated ability to bring standards and processes around data quality and security into an organization.
We are looking for a leader with heavy data experience who can shape our tech strategies for growth and transformation. An experienced professional to define the data repositories and structures to build new products on all of the data we accumulate and envision new products and strategies in data sets..
What you’ll be responsible for:
• Leads enterprise data architecture, external integration, modeling, aggregation, transformation, analytics, and governance
• Provides input to the product roadmap, ensuring alignment of our product data strategy to business strategy
• Helps define and drive new products based on existing or new data sets
• Supports technology mentoring to staff and may act as a team lead
• Migrates legacy systems to new models for growth
What you’ll need to have:
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical field such as a developer, programmer, or technical business analyst
• Experience with disparate and diverse data schemas, mapping, normalization and transformation of databases, data modeling, and database development standards.
• Experience with technologies like DBT, Melano, Airflow, ADF, Databricks and other relevant tools.
• Experience with tools and ecosystems to process and manage data warehouse?on Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data governance and security best practices.
• Proficiency in database technologies (i.e. Postgre
SQL, Azure ADSL Gen2).
• Proficiency implementing and managing data warehouses and data analytics systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python.
• Proficiency implementing machine learning models, especially data tagging and labeling.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure services with Microsoft Azure is preferred but not required.
• Experienced leveraging APIs to push and pull data from various data systems and platforms.
• Team leader experience a plus
