Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer – Level 5 or Level 6 , to join our team. This role can be located at any of our major Northrop Grumman locations within the United States. We may consider a remote working scenario for this role. Our AI Engineer will focus on managing the full AI model lifecycle, including data preparation, model training, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. As part of our growing AI Center of Excellence team, you will develop and deploy AI models using machine learning techniques such as deep learning and neural networks.

This position can be filled at either a Level 5 or 6.

Role and Impact:

• Design, develop, and implement latest machine learning models and algorithms for spacecraft missions and robotics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate AI solutions seamlessly.
• Integrate AI algorithms into simulations and deploy in physical systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all AI/ML models and processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies in Gen AI, agentic and embodied AI and incorporate them into ongoing projects.
• Be a go-to person to escalate the most complex online/production performance and evaluation issues, that require an in-depth knowledge of how the machine learning system and its components interact with systems around it.
• Partner with the product team to understand the problem space, the competitive landscape and constraints and help deliver engineering solutions that work both for the customer (both internal as well as external).
• Assist in proposals development and engagement with customers.
• Lead and engage in design reviews, architectural discussions, requirement definitions and other technical activities in diverse capacity.
