You will lead a team of project and program managers delivering projects and programs spanning multiple State agencies, including technology implementations, process redesign, workflow enhancement, and new program implementations. Your leadership will guide the team in value delivery and outcomes, resources, schedules, plans, financials, and adherence to quality and control guidelines. You will actively engage in improving your leadership skills, attitude, and knowledge related to equity, diversity and inclusion while attending training and group sessions on inclusive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications , Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal RightsA wide salary range is posted for this position; offers are based on salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority compared to others doing similar work. Offers may be within or outside the posted range based on this analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience that includes IT and IT project or program management for large, complex projects and/or portfolio management, demonstrating strong relationship building, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience must include at least one year performing at the level of Senior Project Manager.
Substitutions
- Additional appropriate education can substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot substitute for required management experience. Training or certification related to the work can credit substitution but cannot completely substitute the qualifications.
- If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional paid or unpaid experience can substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience directly managing Project Management professionals.
- Previous experience working within a governmental organization.
- Relevant
Certifications:
Scrum, Agile, ITIL, PMP, LEAN, etc.
OIT candidates and employees must comply with screening procedures at state entity locations where work may be performed. A pre-employment background check will be conducted. Positions supporting some agencies (e.g., Department of Corrections, Department of Public Safety) may require a pre-employment drug test. This position may require travel within the specified geographic area and to locations across the state, and may require on-call duties.

If the posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado. Candidates from out of state will be considered, but the selected candidate must relocate to Colorado on or before the first day in the new position, with a relocation timeline to be set individually.
