The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

• Provide data-driven insights to support decision-makers using internal and external data sources.

• Address moderately complex to complex business problems through data analysis and interpretation.

• Describe tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present data to create actionable information.

• 5 years or more of technical experience in data analysis

• Proven expertise in SQL and related data systems, with a strong track record of querying, analyzing, and managing complex datasets

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced proficiency in Word, Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros), Access, and Power Point

• Demonstrated ability to work with large-scale, complex data sets within enterprise environments, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and actionable insights

• Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

• Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

• Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior leadership

• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

• Bachelor's degree

• Experience with tools such as Power Bi and Tableau for creating data visualizations

• Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

• WAH requirements:
  Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
