• Building and applying deep expertise in education products to inform strategic choices
• Authoring technical specifications that resolve critical technical decisions while prioritizing simplicity, operational efficiency, and sustainable design
• Deploying generative AI capabilities to automate and optimize engineering workflows, supporting the overarching goal of minimizing manual intervention

• Traditional people management; this role relies primarily on your technical and business judgment
• Spending your time in meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; we’ve automated management processes to keep you focused on hands‑on value creation
• Proposing high‑level strategies without actionable implementation detail; your guidance must be grounded in product‑level understanding

• Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, taking full ownership of core capabilities and generating business impact through flawless execution and strategic leadership

• Substantial experience or demonstrated interest in data‑driven learning science
• 7+ years of experience making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of architecture design patterns or major open source technologies
• 2+ years of experience making design decisions that involve cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
• 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery ownership of a revenue‑generating product
• Experience developing product features that leverage advanced Generative AI capabilities
• Experience applying Generative AI to streamline work processes

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
