Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the K  team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team working on BD and KM systems supporting DoD Test Ranges and various acquisition programs.

  • Data Driven Analysis:
    Support customers with insights from DoD Test & Evaluation data. Enable data-driven decision analysis products through novel methods from data science, machine learning, and operations research to provide robust testing and evaluation capabilities to support DoD modernization. Identify opportunities to discover insights in large data sets and work with stakeholders to improve business outcomes through high-quality products.
  • Data Mining:
    Experience with data mining and analysis methods, accessing data in varied storage paradigms, developing models with statistical and machine learning approaches, creating custom algorithms, implementing analysis workflows in Python or R, and writing reports and documentation.
  • Analytic

    Experience:

    Provide analytic consulting, support analytic workflow and product development/testing, promote adoption of data science methods, conduct applied projects, and assist in creating analysis-ready data. Identify opportunities for process or workflow optimization.
  • Customer-Facing

    Experience:

    Serve as the CHEETAS Team face to ensure stakeholders have analytical tools, data products and reports needed to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Assistance:
    Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify analytic requirements and analysis questions informed by large data sets from test events or exercises.
  • Communication:
    Drive decisions through clear written or presented data-based insights. Communicate effectively at programmatic and technical levels.
  • Technical Support:
    Possess extensive expertise in operations research methods and experience with DoD problems. Provide reach-back support from software engineering, data science and system administration teams. While onsite, operate CHEETAS and other tools; demonstrate tools to stakeholders and VIPs; convey analysis results; adapt internal tools/notebooks/reports; gather use cases and requirements for feature requests or bug reports; and occasionally train end users, troubleshooting within closed networks without internet access with support from distributed team members.
  • Independent Work:
    Be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Utilize various methods and models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
Work Environment
  • Location:

    Remote
  • Travel: 25% with potential surge to 50% to support end users located at DoD ranges & labs across the US. When not supporting a site, remote work or from a nearby K  office may be possible.
  • Working Hours:

    Standard, though you may be the only team member on-site at times.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Security Clearance:
    Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Education:

    Advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science or information technology with preferred 12+ years of DoD experience.
