Job Title: Lead Dev Ops Engineer
Type: Contract
Location: LATAM – Nearshore
The Lead Dev Ops Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing cloud-based build, deployment, and operational processes in a production environment. This role combines hands‑on technical execution with leadership responsibilities, supporting and mentoring a small Dev Ops team while collaborating closely with engineering, security, and operations stakeholders.
The Lead Dev Ops Engineer will help define and maintain scalable, repeatable release processes while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance across platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesDev Ops & Cloud Engineering
- Lead the implementation of cloud-based build management, deployment, and release processes.
- Design and execute CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
- Implement containerization and orchestration strategies for scalable deployments.
- Establish processes for ongoing platform maintenance, monitoring, and security patching.
- Build and maintain tools for system monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
- Lead and mentor junior Dev Ops engineers, promoting best practices for release management and automation.
- Perform code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless deployments.
- Ensure documentation and operational procedures are maintained and followed.
- Partner with internal and external teams to enforce Dev Ops and security standards across the organization.
- Ensure operational processes align with internal policies, audit requirements, security standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Support secure, compliant delivery of applications and infrastructure across environments.
- Active AWS Dev Ops certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience supporting AWS infrastructure and enterprise-scale applications.
- 5+ years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops best practices.
- Strong experience with AWS services including EKS, VPC, EC2, ECS, ELB/ALB, and Route
53. - Experience leading or mentoring Dev Ops teams.
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git Hub Actions and Jenkins.
- Experience architecting highly available and scalable cloud environments (AWS and/or OCI).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and configuration tools such as Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Strong Linux shell skills and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, or Perl.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms such as Datadog, Site
24x7, or Pager Duty. - Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases including Postgre
SQL, MySQL, Redis, and Oracle.
- Experience supporting multi-environment release strategies.
- Exposure to security-focused Dev Ops or Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Experience supporting global or distributed engineering teams.
