Job Description
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.
This position will serve as a senior level Business Analyst (BA) supporting Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). It will support the MDHHS Public Health Administration Bureau of Laboratories (BOL) area. The role functions as a technical consultant to MDHHS clients, developing solutions for streamlining critical business processes in alignment with MDHHS’ strategic plan. The incumbent will be integral to developing and maintaining MDHHS’ automated processes, streamlining critical business processes, ensuring data integrity, and securing MDHHS systems.
The position is an information technology professional involved in a variety of analytical assignments to enhance, integrate, maintain, and implement information systems.
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 will be paid upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location/Remote OfficeThe office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan does not offer employment to out-of-state applicants who do not plan to relocate. DTMB offers a hybrid work option requiring two days on-site and three days remote per week.
Required Education And Experience EducationPossession of a Bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or more of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
ExperienceTwo years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
Alternate Education And ExperiencePossession of an associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
OR
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
