The Data Services team at Tivity Health powers enterprise strategy through modern data, analytics, and technology. We leverage industry-leading data to deliver personalized member experiences, actionable insights, and differentiated go-to-market performance. This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and serves as a key member of the Senior Technology Leadership Team.
The RoleThe VP, Data is a senior leadership position that operationalizes a true partnership between Business and Technology. In our model, business owners set outcomes and define success, while the Data organization designs and builds the platforms, integrations, and intelligence that optimize performance. The result is a business-led, insight-driven roadmap focused on value realization rather than technology-first plans.
Strategic Impact & Design IntegrationAs VP of Data, you are a core stakeholder in the initial design and due diligence of all new product lines, features, and external partnerships. You will ensure data architecture is woven into the fabric of our solutions from inception, serving as the blueprint for how we build, operate, and evolve.
By partnering with leaders across Tivity, you will move the organization from ad-hoc reporting to a democratized ecosystem of predictive insights.
Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Architecture- Scalable Platforms:
Design and operate modern, self-service data architectures that democratize access while maintaining enterprise security and performance standards. - Reusable Data Products:
Standardize datasets, measures and semantic layers to enable independent, decentralized analysis. - Cross-Functional Integration:
Partner with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure and Security to ensure data platforms are resilient, cost-efficient, and woven into the core application fabric.
- Strategic Partnerships:
Lead the modernization of Tivity health’s external data ecosystem, streamlining third-party integrations and healthcare data exchange. - Vendor Stewardship:
Direct contract negotiations and SLAs to maximize the business value and transparency of data partner relationships. - Accelerated Insights:
Normalize partner data within the cloud architecture to reduce time-to-insight for strategic initiatives.
- Outcome-Driven Intelligence:
Shift the culture from ad-hoc reporting to a unified KPI framework and automated, predictive dashboards. - Advanced Modeling:
Oversee data science initiatives to enhance forecasting and prediction. - Data-First Culture:
Position data as a strategic asset, ensuring it is interpretable, trusted, and embedded in daily business workflows.
- Enterprise Governance:
Establish clear data ownership, quality standards, and discoverability to drive organization-wide confidence in data. - Compliance & Privacy:
Collaborate with Legal and Security to ensure rigorous adherence to regulatory requirements and responsible data usage. - Financial Stewardship:
Manage the data strategy budget and resource allocation with a strict focus on ROI and value realization.
- Team Excellence:
Build and mentor a multidisciplinary organization (Data Engineering, BI, Data Science) aligned with agile, product-oriented practices. - Upstream Influence:
Serve as a core stakeholder in the initial design of all new product lines and partnerships to ensure data-centricity from inception.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field highly preferred. - Executive Leadership & Strategy: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across data, analytics, marketing technology, or digital platforms, including at least 5 years leading senior, cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to partner with leadership to translate business strategy into technical roadmaps that drive growth.
- Data Strategy & Architecture:
Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture, including cloud-based data platforms, data integration, master data management, governance, and analytics. Experience leveraging internal and external data to enable advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and self-insights. - External Data & Partnership Leadership:
Strong experience working with third-party vendors, healthcare or data partners, and external data providers. - Agility & Operating Model:
Strong advocate for Agile and modern delivery practices, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environments while maintaining strategic clarity, execution discipline, and accountability. - Communication & Influence:
Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and influence stakeholders.

This is a remote-friendly role with a preference for candidates open to a hybrid schedule in our Franklin, TN or Chandler, AZ offices.
