BITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Duck Creek Developer to join our Home Office team in Davenport, IA. BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including construction, forest products, and oil & gas.

Position Summary:

Working as part of the IT Application Development team, this position is responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of coding, design, modification, support and functional testing of the Duck Creek Policy platform. This role is vitally important to the organization as the Application Development team is a service department responsible for providing high-quality, modern software solutions giving our organization a competitive edge.

Additionally, the Duck Creek Policy platform is the foundational future of our organization, and we need to ensure that the platform is established and maintained in accordance with industry standard solutions. This role will collaborate with IT Leadership, software developers, IT Operations, architects, business analysts, SI partners, project managers and business SMEs across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • In coordination with Application Development leadership - create specifications, designs, and implementations of Duck Creek Policy focused technical solutions to meet the needs of the enterprise.
  • Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of Duck Creek Policy implementations and upgrades, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate across the enterprise to design, create and prepare enhancements and upgrades to the Duck Creek Policy systems as prioritized by the business and IT leadership.
  • Collaborate with architects and software developers to collaborate on integrations with the Duck Creek Policy system, ensuring integrations are loosely coupled, independently deployable, and highly resilient.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on scoping and estimation of requested enhancements and support of the Duck Creek Policy system.
  • Provide guidance on continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies (e.g., micro-services architecture, CI/CD, Dev Ops)
  • Provides training and mentorship to Duck Creek Software Developers to help team stay on a cohesive path while fostering a culture of high performance, experimentation, and continuous learning.
  • Provides clear verbal and written communication to department leadership regarding assignments and ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with QA department to provide feedback and remediation to defects and bugs.
  • Actively engage in limiting technical debt, ensuring new development enhances system agility and long-term maintainability.
  • Adhere to high standards for in-house software development, including code quality, security, release automation, and performance.
  • Ensure quality, quantity, and timeliness of work to meet project and business goals and milestones.
  • Consults with internal and external customers across the enterprise to define enterprise solution requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors and SI partners on integrations and co-development of software solutions.
  • Ensures our enterprise technical systems remain performant and troubleshoot issues when they surface by independently analyzing issues as they arise and collaborating on solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation and diagrams related to application architecture, integrations and integrations to ensure transparency and supportability of applications by other team members.
  • Takes an active role in investigating and resolving complex production issues as they arise.
  • Provide feedback to IT Leadership on training and resources to effectively utilize new and evolving technology stacks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. Degrees in computer science, information systems, or business administration with technology as a core component preferred.
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience with Duck Creek Policy configuration, upgrade, and support.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
