Job Summary
Perform duties required to promote Hager architectural hardware with architects, specification writers, and end users for the purpose of inclusion in finish hardware specifications. These duties would include, but are not limited to, reviewing substitution requests, submittals, creating master specifications, and specifications writing. This position is fully remote. Candidates may reside anywhere within the United States. The salary range is $70,000 – $120,000 per year, based on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities- Write door hardware specifications per instructions provided.
- Ensure specifications adhere to applicable building codes and standards.
- Make note of discrepancies and document convey these to the architect.
- Review hardware submittals to ensure compliance with specified products.
- Attend project-related meetings with owners and architects to discuss low‑voltage, keying, project details, and other topics as required.
- Maintain minimum performance standards which include:
- Accomplish at least 2200 openings per month (unless insufficient work is available)
- Meet deadlines at least 95% of the time
- Verify specifications written are at least 95% accurate.
- Attend classes, training events, seminars, and others as directed, for the purposes of increasing knowledge regarding industry codes and standards.
- Attend local chapter meetings of DHI and CSI.
- Other related duties as required.
Ten years’ experience working in the architectural door and hardware industry.
License(s)/Certification(s) RequiredAHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) as designated by the Door and Hardware Institute (or equivalent combination of training and work experience).
SkillsFunctional knowledge of building codes and standards relating to doors and door hardware. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, PDF editor software, and hardware scheduling software is preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and professional presentation skills required. Experience with access control systems and low‑voltage hardware products preferred.
Physical RequirementsNormal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
