Mission

As the AI Infrastructure and Security Manager, you will be embedded in the AI Factory team working alongside MLOps platform engineers, software engineers, product managers, and data scientists. You will focus on the stability and reliability of AI/ML computing resources, orchestration, automation, and services. In addition you will contribute to a broad range of projects across the enterprise to increase machine‑learning availability and value to Lockheed Martin.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of infrastructure and platform engineers
  • Build and maintain complex computing environments designed to train, deploy, and operate AI systems
  • Address user needs and resolve system reliability and stability concerns
  • Collaborate closely with AI/ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineering subject‑matter experts
  • Collaborate closely with Central IT, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams for on‑premises and cloud deployments of the platform
  • Work with vendors to advocate for Lockheed Martin’s needs for Machine Learning and AI platforms

Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive salary: $173,400 - $300,495 in major metropolitan areas (California, Massachusetts, New York) or $150,800 - $265,880 in other states. (Details vary by location.)

Work Location & Schedule
  • Remote full‑time telework; employee may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
  • Schedule:

    4 × 10‑hour days, 3 days off per week.
Security Clearance

Requires Secret clearance prior to starting. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Basic Qualifications
  • Leadership experience with AI Operations and Security
  • Software Security practices (MFA, least privilege, monitoring, encryption, or mutual authentication)
  • Cyber Security practices (intelligence‑driven defense, threat‑driven methodologies, cyber‑kill chain)
  • AI Security practices (data provenance, adversarial AI)
  • IT principles: networking, storage, computing, security, distributed services
  • Programming and scripting:
    Python, Go, Bash
  • Strong oral and written communication; collaboration with cross‑functional partners
  • Active Secret clearance prior to start
Desired Skills
  • Linux (RHEL, Debian, UNIX, etc.)
  • Pipeline automation (ArgoCD, Tekton, Git Lab CI/CD)
  • Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Open Shift, Rancher, GKE)
  • Container and image security (Falco, Sysdig Secure, Aqua, Clair, Anchore)
  • Dev Sec Ops  and cloud‑native practices
  • Container storage interfaces, persistent volumes
  • Helm or Kustomize for Kubernetes automation
  • Ansible or Terraform for infrastructure automation
  • Collaboration tools (Teams, Confluence, Git Lab)
  • Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos)
  • Image registries (Quay, Harbor)
  • Machine learning architectures: GPU computing, HPC
