Department Overview

Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, Financial Applications, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. Position Summary

The Systems Integration Engineer specializes in Mulesoft development. The role works with resources in UCOP, IT, UC campuses, and implementation partner to implement the integration of various systems, both external and within the UC system. Applies advanced systems and software integration concepts, and location or institutional objectives, to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of systems and software requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to resolve and implement medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity.

Regularly resolves highly complex business processes, system functionality, implementation issues and system and software integration issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Selects tools, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Participates in after-hours operational support schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design and implement integration enhancements on existing financial system flows for various APIs or applications on Anypoint Platform. Specifically provides support on the integration of various boundary systems such as Pension Administration system, Payroll, Cashnet etc.
  • Identify and implement robust monitoring and operational process setup for the Mule Soft integrations supporting various platforms including SaaS such as Oracle, on-prem applications, AWS-hosted applications, or AWS services. Participate in establishing and enhancing business and operational processes for timely turnaround especially during month end and year end activities.
  • Mentor and lead projects working with mid-level to junior engineers on implementing best practices in code development and production issues. Train junior team members on best coding practices using Mule with no performance degradation.
  • Collaborate with business partners and help define metrics, KPIs to increase operational efficiencies. Adhere and participate in SLA, metric & KPI definition as a senior Mulesoft operational support team member.
  • Maintain Operational runbook. Actively participate in roadmap planning and suggest year-over-year improvements and other responsibilities as assigned. A key responsibility of this role is ensuring documentation is accurate and current. Take the lead on product and process documentation.
Experience
  • Min 8 years of experience building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions; inclusive of a minimum of 5 years of experience in Mulesoft API development.
