• Lead the development and maintenance of the codebase for the City Food Policy Project food commodity model
• Design, code, test, debug, and document research software to evaluate sustainability in agricultural systems
• Conduct user needs analysis and provide technical support for software integrations
• Train staff and students on modern coding standards and conduct code reviews
• Contribute to scholarly publications, grant proposals, and research reports

• Master’s degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
• Experience in building research models and working with database systems
• Familiarity with continuous integration, Dev Ops practices, and agile development methodologies
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

• PhD in Computer Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and experience supporting research projects
• Experience with computational modeling approaches and cloud-based computing platforms
• Familiarity with systems thinking and system dynamics modeling frameworks
• Experience working with food system models
