AI Strategist (Hybrid Role, 2 Days/week in Columbia, SC)

Overview: SYSTEMTEC is seeking an AI Strategist in a hybrid role in Columbia, SC (2 days on-site). The candidate will shape and execute an enterprise artificial intelligence strategy that improves operational performance, enhances public-facing services, and promotes responsible technology adoption. This role partners closely with executive leadership and technology teams to identify high-value use cases, establish governance, and drive measurable outcomes.

• Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and prioritized portfolio of AI initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
• Establish and enforce responsible AI standards, including privacy, fairness, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with business and technical teams to identify opportunities, define requirements, and drive adoption of AI solutions.
• Support vendor evaluations, platform alignment, and adherence to cybersecurity and data governance policies.
• Lead change management, training, and communication efforts to build AI literacy and report on performance metrics.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or other related field along with applicable experience managing programs or initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with AI technologies, machine learning concepts, and data governance practices.
• Preferred: 5 years of hands-on experience expanding scope in artificial intelligence, analytics, or information technology.
• Prior experience working in a government or public sector environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
• Experience with AI strategy, AI data analytics: 5 years (Required).

Hybrid role in Columbia, SC (2 days a week on-site).

• Pay from $60/hour; contract duration > 6 months.
