POSITIONConsultant, IT-Data Visualization Platforms
POSITION DESCRIPTIONBaxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Consultant, IT-Data Visualization Platforms with the following duties:
- Communicate regularly with team members and stakeholders to collect requirements, champion business analytics, and collaborate to create sustainable, scalable, value driven solutions.
- Define, develop, implement, and communicate:
- (1) Best practices across supported business intelligence and data visualization platforms;
- (2) Processes and procedures that ensure data integrity, quality, accuracy, and security across a variety of database, data warehouse, and data visualization technologies, ensuring users have access to only the data and platforms required to perform their business function;
- (3) Identify and implement process improvements within the business intelligence and data visualization platforms to reduce workloads and/or improve quality across the business analytics community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field plus 7 years of related experience
- Will accept any level of experience in the following skills:
- Design, develop, build, test, implement, performance tune, and maintain stable and scalable semantic layers, dashboards, reports using IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Paginated Reports;
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure data integrity and data quality using Cognos Analytics, Power BI, and Paginated Reports;
- Design, implement, and maintain security standards using best practice approaches for Cognos Analytics, Power BI, and Paginated Reports;
- Perform scheduling, deployments, maintenance and administrative activities on the Cognos Analytics, Power BI, and Paginated Reports;
- Writing SQL procedures, functions, and complex queries on Oracle and SQL Server, and creating processes to store and retrieve data from Azure synapse and data lake;
- Participate in technical and administrative support tasks for Cognos Analytics and Power BI, including software installation, platform/tenant configuration, monitoring, end-user security, troubleshooting, and development best practices;
- Creation and configuration Cognos Analytics projects and Power BI capacities, work spaces, data gateways, and data sources;
- Analyze and balance Power BI capacity and data gateway workloads to minimize processing disruption;
- Analyze network and database activities and identify opportunities to optimize Cognos Analytics and Power BI report performance;
- Document and maintain end-user support and administrative procedures, and cross train team members in those activities.
- This position is managed by Baxter’s flexible work policy (Bax Flex). This policy currently allows for 40% work-from-home, per week. This policy is continuously being reviewed and the option to work from home could be eliminated without notice, converted to 100 % on-site/in-the-office.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $128,000 - $192,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position.
