About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
This position is responsible for all DMVA Accounts Payable. This role uses SIGMA, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory requirements, and an understanding of the relationship DMVA has with the Federal Government and how payments are processed. The ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and other software used in the position is required. The position is responsible for reviewing and processing payments to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner, avoiding late payments per P.A. 279 of 1984.
Serve as the liaison and point of contact for accounts payable issues with DMVA and DTMB as part of the accounting service center.

Position Location:
This position is located in Lansing, MI. It may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates approved for a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment. DTMB Human Resources uses E-Verify in conjunction with the federal I-9 form to verify employment eligibility.
EducationEducational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience- Accounting Technician 7 — Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for the experience requirement.
- Accounting Technician 8 — Possession of a Bachelor's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for the experience requirement.
- Accounting Technician E9 — Possession of a Bachelor's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
- General experience:
One to three years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, at levels corresponding to Accounting Technician 7, 8, or E9.
