MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
- Lead/Manage/Support the development of AI/ML architectures for fleet operations, cyber defense, and logistics, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with DoD standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including data scientists, systems engineers, and enterprise architects-to translate complex requirements into robust, deployable solutions.
- Drive key outcomes such as reduced data processing times, increased predictive accuracy, and accelerated AI model deployment across command networks.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and secure multi-party computation to meet the Defense sector s stringent security and performance requirements.
- Design and implement agentic AI systems leveraging Crew AI, Lang Chain, Lang Graph, OpenAI, Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable tool use, memory, and multi-step autonomous task execution.
Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The AI Engineer/ Architect must have:
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or another STEM field. - Experience:
8+ years of related experience in AI/ML engineering, solution architecture, and system integration, with a proven track record in defense or federal government environments. - Technical skills:
- Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
- Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with secure data pipelines, encryption, and compliance with DoD security controls.
- Ability to develop and present AI proposals, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and implementation roadmaps.
Security clearance level:
Active Secret clearance to start with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI
US citizenship required
- Role requirements:
- Excellent consultative selling skills; ability to engage stakeholders, identify new opportunities, and articulate the value of AI/ML solutions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to distill complex requirements into actionable deliverables and guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and work on-site at GDIT facilities as needed.

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
