Network Administrator

Overview

Our client is seeking a Network Administrator to support the enterprise and distributed partner networks. The Network Administrator is responsible for full life cycle management of campus, data center, and cloud networks including LAN, WAN, WLAN, network security and associated technologies. Hybrid working environment, time for this position is split between working from home/remotely and being on-site.

• Meeting with partner customers to design or re-design networks.
• Mentoring and teaching junior network administrators to fulfill customer requests or troubleshooting.
• Collaborating in evaluating vendor quotes for solutions and developing recommendations for lifecycle management, new builds, or updates.
• Meeting with third parties to design integrations for services, software, or hardware.
• Taking advantage of online training opportunities to grow and develop knowledge and skills.
• Presenting network designs to executive leaders using Visio, PowerPoint, whiteboarding and other tools over video calls or in person.

• Design, implement, and support network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN), with a strong emphasis on MPLS-based campus environments, data center, and cloud integrations.
• Manage and troubleshoot complex network environments including routing, switching, wireless, VPN, load balancing, and firewall services.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and campus stakeholders to evaluate network needs, develop solutions, and execute projects.
• Mentor junior network administrators, share technical knowledge, and contribute to lifecycle planning and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed to ensure 24/7 network availability.

• Network hardware:
  Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Arista, Aruba, and Extreme Wireless
• Load balancers:
  Citrix, F5
• Cisco Catalyst Center, SD-WAN platforms, and cloud networking tools

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field from a regionally accredited institution
• and 3 years of professional experience in network administration;
• OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• Routing & Switching protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN
• Campus and Data Center networking technologies (e.g., VXLAN, ACI)
• Troubleshooting tools and packet capture analysis

• Cisco CCNA, or equivalent
• ITIL Foundation

• Must work evenings, weekends, holidays as required to provide support and maintenance for systems, and to ensure 24/7 support and troubleshooting.
• Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
• Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, grasping, and driving, all with frequency.

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors. The environment may include exposure to variations in temperature, weather, equipment noise, and occasional dust. This position is hybrid, with most days being on-site.
