The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled IT System Engineer (m/w/d) with a focus on First-Level Support to join our IT team at our Kiel location. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our employees, providing essential support for various IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network concerns. Your responsibilities will include handling support tickets, maintaining and administering Windows clients and servers, and assisting with the installation and configuration of IT systems.
Additionally, you will support the digital infrastructure, including time management systems, telephony, and intranet platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an IT professional to contribute to a vital public organization while developing their skills in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a completed vocational training or degree in a relevant IT field, such as IT System Electronics, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification. Prior experience in network administration and general IT support is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a friendly and professional demeanor, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A sense of responsibility, problem-solving skills, and the willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this role. A good understanding of Windows operating systems, network infrastructure, and support ticket management systems will be beneficial.
- Provide first-level support by accepting and resolving incident reports through the ticketing system, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Act as a personal contact for employees of VAK, offering technical assistance and guidance on IT-related matters.
- Manage and maintain Windows client and server systems, ensuring operational stability and security.
- Perform hardware and software installations, updates, and configurations to support organizational needs.
- Support and maintain digital systems such as time recording, telephone systems, and intranet platforms.
- Administer network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure seamless connectivity and security.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installations, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Analyze IT processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop application solutions to optimize workflows.
- Assist the IT department with general organizational tasks and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services.
