Team OverviewThe Senior Security Engineer is a senior technical engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network security solutions, with a primary focus on Zscaler technologies and broader network security initiatives. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the firm s network infrastructure is robust, secure, and optimized for performance and availability, while adhering to best practices and security standards.
WhatYou ll Do
Design, deploy, and manage the Zscaler platform, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
Lead network security initiatives, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure remote access including segmentation policies through ZPA.
Monitor, analyze, respond, and remediate security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Conduct network assessments and recommend improvements to enhance security and performance.
Develop and maintain documentation for network architecture, security policies, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to integrate security solutions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on network security best practices.
Troubleshoot complex network issues, including connectivity, latency, and security concerns.
Stay current with emerging network security technologies, threats, and vulnerability identification.

Skills / RequirementsWhat Experience You ll Need:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network engineering and security, with at least 3 years working with Zscaler solutions.
Expertise in configuring and managing Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
Expertise with network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Zscaler Certified Professional, CISSP, CCNP Security).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
This role will require occasional after-hours support and participation in on-call rotations on a weekly basis.
Current INTERNAL home-based associatesWhile this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
