Snyk is the leader in secure AI software development, helping millions of developers develop fast and stay secure as AI transforms how software is built. Our AI-native Developer Security Platform integrates seamlessly into development and security workflows, making it easy to find, fix, and prevent vulnerabilities - from code and dependencies to containers and cloud.

Our mission is to empower every developer to innovate securely in the AI era - boosting productivity while reducing business risk. We're not your average security company - we build Snyk on One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. It's how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world.

Why this role?

As a Security Engineer at Snyk, you will be a primary engineer of our internal defense in depth strategy, with a mission to protect the entire enterprise ecosystem, including our global infrastructure, internal platforms, and the digital identity of our workforce.

This role moves beyond traditional security silos to build and scale the technical foundations of a resilient global enterprise. While you must maintain a deep understanding of adversarial tactics, your primary focus is to proactively harden, detect, and respond across our enterprise and multi-cloud environments. You will support the evolution of our autonomous AI-driven SIEM, lead Incident Response efforts for the organization, and ensure that our rapid adoption of enterprise cloud technologies is governed by robust, automated security guardrails.

What You’ll Do:
  • Drive the design and optimization of our internal SIEM and SOAR platforms.
  • You will move beyond static signatures to leverage AI to support and enhance detections, correlating behavioral telemetry across disparate enterprise cloud, identity, and endpoint providers to identify machine speed attacks.
  • Serve as a lead responder for security incidents affecting our enterprise assets and employees.
  • Monitor and manage the organization’s global attack surface.
  • You will analyze web traffic patterns to detect and block malicious activity, phishing attempts, and data exfiltration while ensuring secure internet egress.
  • Implement Identity Threat Detection and Response strategies to protect our users.
  • Align enterprise technical controls with industry frameworks, including FedRAMP, SOC2, and ISO.
  • Participate in a global Follow the Sun on‑call rotation, you will collaborate with international engineering hubs to ensure 24/7 coverage of the enterprise environment and maintain our Assume Impact readiness posture.
What You Bring:
  • 2 plus years in a defensive security role focusing on enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record in assisting with Detection Engineering, incident handling, and basic security automation.
  • Working knowledge of SIEM platforms and MDR, working with vendors for log analysis and event monitoring.
  • Foundational ability to participate in incident response efforts, including containing active threats and assisting with root cause analysis in enterprise environments.
  • Basic programming skills in Python or Go to assist with building security tooling and automated playbooks.
  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and how it relates to common defensive controls.
It’d Be Awesome If You Also…
  • Have experience building autonomous IR playbooks that use LLMs for automated alert enrichment and summarization.
  • Have a background in Data Engineering, specifically building data pipelines for internal behavioral threat hunting.
  • Are active in the security research community, contributing to open source security tools or presenting at local meetups.

We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we've created and we value diversity - we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you're the right person, do apply anyway!
