About Trek Financial & Base Camp

Trek Financial (Trek) is a fast paced SEC registered RIA with nearly 30 years in business. We support independent financial advisors across the country with trading, billing, compliance, marketing, operations, and technology so they can focus on serving their clients.

Our internal team is called Base Camp, we’re the “home office” group behind the scenes that serves our advisors as our primary clients and takes pride in delivering more than they expect. We’re a collaborative, service focused group of professionals that continues to advance and grow new opportunities for all involved.

Role Overview

As an IT Systems & Support Administrator, you will own the day to day administration of Trek’s technology ecosystem while helping ensure alignment with SEC cybersecurity expectations. You’ll work across Microsoft 365, Intune, our RMM platform, Azure VMs, VoIP, and Word Press, while supporting end users across employees and contractors.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, from helpdesk triage to security hardening to vendor management and who understands the demands of a regulated industry. A background in financial services or another regulated environment is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Microsoft 365 administration:
Manage Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and Exchange Online for a distributed workforce.
  • Endpoint & mobile device management:
Configure and secure laptops, tablets, and phones using Microsoft Intune.
  • Remote monitoring & management:
Oversee Atera (or similar RMM) for monitoring, patching, and asset inventory.
  • VoIP systems:
Administer 8x8 (preferred) including call flows, troubleshooting, and user provisioning.
  • Cloud & server infrastructure:
Manage Azure VMs, resource provisioning, patch cycles, and scalability.
  • Word Press server management:
Maintain Word Press environments, including plugin updates, backups, and security hardening.
  • Cybersecurity & compliance:
Enforce endpoint protection, encryption, MFA, and secure configurations consistent with SEC expectations; partner with compliance on cyber related controls.
  • Documentation:
Maintain IT SOPs, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Helpdesk:
Serve as first line support for hardware, software, cloud, and VoIP issues with clear ticketing hygiene and communication.
  • Vendor & procurement:
Manage IT vendors, evaluate new tools, and inform procurement and standardization decisions.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of IT systems administration or similar experience.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online).
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Intune MDM and RMM tools (Atera, Ninja One, Connect Wise, etc.).
  • Familiarity with VoIP platforms (8x8 preferred; Ring Central/Vonage acceptable).
  • Basic Word Press server administration skills (updates, backups, security).
  • Strong grounding in cybersecurity best practices; experience in financial services or another regulated industry is preferred.
  • Process oriented with strong documentation habits; able to balance daily support with long term systems improvement.
  • Clear, patient communicator who can support advisors and Base Camp staff as internal “clients.”
Why Join Trek
  • Forward thinking enterprise RIA where IT is viewed as a strategic enabler of growth, not just a cost center.
  • Broad, modern tech stack spanning cloud, security, collaboration, and digital platforms.
  • Lean, high impact team with visibility and ownership beyond a traditional helpdesk role.
  • Opportunities to shape standards, automation, and security posture as we scale.
Benefits
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Company Holidays.
  • Collaborative hybrid work environment.
Compensation

Base Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000 annually

Compensation will be determined based on experience, technical proficiency, depth of systems administration skills, familiarity with our technology stack (Microsoft 365, Intune, RMM, Azure, VoIP, Word Press), and overall fit within the Base Camp team.

Bonus Opportunity:
Performance based bonus tied to:

  • Service quality and ticket resolution (responsiveness, first contact resolution, satisfaction feedback).
  • Systems reliability and uptime (proactive patching, incident prevention, minimal recurring issues).
  • Cybersecurity and compliance posture (consistent application of controls, clean audit/assessment results, remediation follow through).
  • Process and automation improvements (documented SOPs, reduced manual effort, effective vendor/tool recommendations).

Don’t see a perfect match on every bullet? If you’re strong across Microsoft 365, Intune, RMM, and security, and have regulated industry context let’s talk.
